I decided through a recent experience that I
do not spend enough time "tooting my own horn" nor letting you know how I have
helped you. You can help me by "tooting my horn" to others.
Recently, there was an article about me in the
July 6, 2004 edition of The Daily Tribune. While copyright laws prevent
us from republishing the article, we'd be more than happy to provide you with a
copy of it. If you are interested in reading this article, just give us a call
at 248-541-2052.
Kathy got me started on a letter she put
together which spelled out the things she has seen me accomplish for clients. So
here goes a start and I hope if you can add to it, you will let me know.
- I secured non-profit status for an
organization in record time after they had been trying-'for-two years (they
even forfeited their-filing fee).
- I went before the United Fund panel for a
non-profit client and secured funding based on changes I made in their
accounting system and staff.
- I had my first "no adjustment" IRS audit
this year. Of course the client had a lot to do with it (great records). DO
YOU REALIZE WHAT THAT DOES FOR CLIENTS WHO COME UP FOR AUDIT IN THE FUTURE?
The signer's reputation can cause the auditor to forgo even looking. I had
always heard that, then a prior employee who went to work for the IRS
confirmed I was on a "good" list.
- Speaking of audits. I have very few. The %
of my clients who get audited is low. I attribute that to several things: the
"good" list, my history with the prestigious CPA firm of Plante & Moran and my
own history.
- I recently computed the total savings to a
client new to me for 2003. Although my fee was higher than the prior CPA, I
was able to reduce taxes enough to make the cost of my fee $500 lower. Plus
changes for 2004 will produce an addition savings, all of which will continue
each-year while my fee going forward will be dramatically less.
- Kathy does not want me to forget to mention
that I am available when you need me. This can be a-very big thing when the
IRS is breathing -down-your neck. She also wants you to know that I provide a
notary service to clients and friends for no charge. Being available to
notarize when needed is handy. I am reachable at all times.
- That reminds me, not so long ago I even
drove to a client's home on Sunday, contacted an attorney and made
arrangements to confront a longtime employee who I found was embezzling from
the client. Read the article on my web site for the details and what you can
look out for.
Please think of me and share my name and deeds
with others. To keep going, I need incoming clients as well as you.
Sincerely and going the extra mile,
